OPEN CALL: SPARKS 2021 is looking for kids (9>12y)

Children do not belong to this world: they come from the future! It is from this place in time that they speak to us. Do we dare to listen to them?
Francesca Grilli’s SPARKS 2021 is a participatory performance based on a simple act: children read adults their future in the palm of their hand, as a hopeful gesture and as a break with the past.

WHAT?
In a four-day long workshop by the artist Francesca Grilli and the poet Azzurra D'Agostino, you get prepared for the performance. You learn how to read the hand (and thus the life!) of someone else and you get trained in creative writing & physical exercises.
After the workshops, there will be a general run and two performance days.
Note: some of you will be reading hands during the performance, others will be guiding the audience through the performance space. Crazy mirroring helmets included!

FOR WHO?
All children from Brussels and around, aged 9y > 12y, Dutch and/or French speaking.

WHEN?
Workshop days:
Thursday 4/11                         10:00 – 17:00 with 1 hour break
Friday 5/11                              10:00 – 17:00 with 1 hour break
Saturday 6/11                         10:00 – 17:00 with 1 hour break
Sunday 7/11                           10:00 – 17:00 with 1 hour break 

General run of the performance:
Wednesday 10/11                    16:00 – 19:00

Performance days:
Thursday 11/11                       15:00 – 16:30
Friday 12/11                            19:00 – 20:30
