Two Discussions of an Anterior Event

In October the American choreographer Jennifer Lacey appeared in mhmmmm, a piece she made with the artist Nadia Lauro. She will be back again in April, this time in the Kaaitheater Studios, with a reworking of her 1995 solo Skin Mitten. The original choreography on video will be projected on a screen and provided with subtitles. At the same time, Lacey will perform her choreography live on stage. The same dance in two different ways.

50/50

Earlier this season, the Danish dancer Mette Ingvartsen, who lives and works in Brussels, gave us to come, a piece that was as humorous as it was sensual. In 50/50, a 2004 production, she displays extreme and spectacular movements based on the codes of such genres as rock music, opera and circus. This is physical rather than psychological expression.

I love like animals

In I love like animals the French artist-choreographer Latifa Laâbissi combines dance and language. Words, movements and sounds lead the spectator into a world of chaos. Reality and fiction merge into one another and undermine the validity of our perceptions.
