Perform The Body As A Living Sculpture

workshop
28.03.2015

When we think of ‘theatre’ we can pretty well imagine what it is; and ‘dance’ is also fairly self-explanatory. But what is ‘performance’? How is performance art in visual art and on stage developed? And where do you start, when you want to put a performance together?

The artists from the Brussels organisation w wh at* examine various artistic practices in this workshop for children (from 10 years upwards). Using various objects, your own body and examples of contemporary art, we create a new image, paying particular attention to the position of the body, to moving and standing still, the relationship to space and the relationship between body, space, object and audience. In other words: we start with the basics in order to find out what performance is/can be.
