Midday and Eternity (the time piece)
Drie witte, efemere figuren
Met Midday and Eternity (the time piece) maakte Eleanor Bauer afgelopen seizoen het sluitstuk van haar trilogie die de dans onderzoekt als ‘synthese van ervaringen’. Elk deel bekeek zij vanuit een verschillend perspectief. Zo waren wetenschap en politiek de basis voor de eerste twee voorstellingen, A Dance for the Newest Age (the triangle piece) en Tentative Assembly (the tent piece).
In Midday and Eternity (the time piece) vertrekt Bauer vanuit de spiritualiteit: dans als drijvende en verbindende kracht tussen het enkelvoudige en het universele. De dansers – drie witte, efemere figuren – staan niet langer centraal maar lossen bijna op in het grotere geheel van hun omgeving en een eeuwige herhaling als toekomst.
• De Amerikaanse danseres en choreografe Eleanor Bauer is één van de vier artists in residence van het Kaaitheater. U kon ze als danseres aan het werk zien in voorstellingen van o.a. Rosas en Xavier Le Roy. Daarnaast toonden we haar werk als choreografe. Dit seizoen kan u haar ook opnieuw aan het werk zien als de exuberante gastvrouw in haar BAUER HOURS.
