There is also work by Matthias Pintscher and Salvatore Sciarrino. The pianist Marino Formenti was praised by the Los Angeles Times as ‘a Glenn Gould for the 21st century’.

In 2000 his Chekhov opera Three Sisters appeared at La Monnaie and this season Bozar has devoted a series of concerts to his music. She sought and found inspiration in an ancient Egyptian ritual: after death the heart of the deceased is weighed on scales counterbalanced by the feather of truth. In Zeitung, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and pianist Alain Franco, together with the Rosas dancers, go in search of the unstable combination of music and dance, choreography and improvisation, romance and disillusion and of the essential building blocks of choreography. Alain Franco provides live piano accompaniment for the nine dancers.  The music is by Bach, Webern and Schönberg.

In this programme Capilla Flamenca presents twelve typical works from the Ars Nova repertoire (fourteenth century), as well as several secular works by Guillaume de Machaut, the absolute master of the Ars Nova. In compiling the programme Capilla Flamenca was inspired by the beautifully illustrated zodiac which Jean de Berry commissioned the Limburg brothers to paint.
