The Big BOK Multiplication

learning day

The Big BOK Multiplication
The Big BOK Multiplication
Sun 13.03.22

bodies of knowledge (BOK) considers the city as a rich source of valuable knowledge. Every passer- by could teach you something from their own background and life-experiences. BOK seeks to share this invisibilized or suppressed knowledge through oral transmission, that potentially could give rise to a socially more just society. The Big BOK Multiplication tells the story of one and a half year of BOK in Brussels. It's the gathering of a learning community, and an encounter with a living corpus of non-dominant knowledge. Feel welcome to join and learn along.

BLOOD LTD by Bloet
BLOOD LTD by Bloet
Tue 09.11 - Wed 10.11.21

In the coming years, Jan Decorte and Sigrid Vinks will focus on collaborating with young performers. BLOOD LTD by Bloet is a project with the density of a black hole. All themes, visions, opinions, dogmas and manifestos are swallowed up and evolve from a meaningless zero to a meaningful chaos. Jan Decorte and Sigrid Vinks, together with Ika Schwander and Oumar Dicko, create their own theatre language: light, whispering and fleeting.

In the second part, the voices are accompanied by eight musicians from Ictus. The Encyclopédie de la parole collective presents a performance about absence, like an opera without singers or a theatre without actors. For 150 minutes, you hear a thousand concrete situations in more than 30 languages.

Tafukt/The Sun/Athena is a dance solo and the first part of a trilogy focused on epistemologies and mythologies of the Tamazigh – the indigenous population of Northern Africa. Radouan Mriziga seeks to create a space for reflections on the past in order to strive for a more inclusive future.

Jan Decorte, Sigrid Vinks, and the young multi-talent Lisah Adeaga engage in the battle body and soul.

Thu 04.04 - Fri 05.04.19

How can we say something about the future through the lens of the past? Michiel Vandevelde examines the recent history of western modern and contemporary dance, from Isadora Duncan to Anna Halprin. In five speculative acts about the past from the future, the present is inevitably reflected upon. This way, choreography becomes a form of science-fiction.
