Dancers, actors, musicians, set, lighting and costume designers enter into dialogue with one another as equals. One powerful image succeeds another. In Sketches/Notebook, you are repeatedly swept along by the image, movement and music, and are inevitably drawn into this bizarre and intimate ritual.

On the occasion of The Karaoke Dialogues, Daniel Linehan presents his book: A No Can Make Space. In the form of a lecture performance, Linehan will explain his working process whilst performing fragments from his choreo graphies and reporting on them. He dances, narrates, and observes. Simply a must-see for dance-lovers and bibliophiles.

In the film The Rabbit and the Teasel, integrally shot in the Irish countryside, fiction and autobiographical elements are interwoven into a lyrical tale that drags the viewer into a world of beauty, death, and decay. Documentary maker and artist Els Dietvorst paints a picture of the human condition in Ireland today as well as of man and nature in the 21st century.

Flanders is experiencing the hype of independence. Which will prevail, confederation or separatism? The book Wereldvreemd in Vlaanderen (Out of Touch with Reality in Flanders) cuts across these concerns. On the basis of an analysis of the new world order, the authors argue for progressive politics on several scales.

Performance based on a people’s assembly that actually took place in ancient Greece. The Ancient Greek text is still topical and raises questions about the left and right wing, about the how and why of democracy, and the responsibility of the politician as well as that of the citizen. Following the federal elections on Sunday, 25th May 2014, Malpertuis will tour several towns and cities with this acclaimed performance.

JDX – A Public Enemy goes back to Henrik Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People. Tg STAN created this production in 1993. A razor-sharp comedy of politics, corruption, the abuse of power and the role of the media that is still very relevant today.

Three dancers on a metal tower, each at a different level, small platforms from which they can neither see nor touch one another. The dancers are naked except for a T-shirt. The audience walks around the tower and explores the dance from every possible angle. A radical piece of movement theatre! Olivier De Schutter is a special observer on food for the United Nations. In his talk he will look in greater depth at the most important features of a balanced global food system.
