Platform Kanal was set up a year and a half ago. It is a network comprising many of the zone’s actors. Its aim is to think about and work on an overall, integrated vision for the development of the Brussels canal zone. The urban research group from the VUB and La Cambre school of architecture will provide the presentations.

More and more people agree that when it comes to selection criteria in business, a lot still has to change before women truly have equal opportunities. The call for quotas seems to be getting louder all the time. But are quotas the right approach? And if so, what would a realistic percentage be? And should we introduce quotas for other minorities too?

Computers, Privacy and Data Protection is a two-day-conference for academics, practitioners, policy-makers and activists to come together, exchange ideas and discuss emerging issues of information technology, privacy, data protection and law. This year’s conference theme ‘An Element of Choice’ has been chosen because of the many options open for data protection policy. Technological change is dictated by higher forces, but can be steered.

A series of talks organised by the Flemish-Dutch Centre deBuren, intended for higher education students, but everyone is welcome. There will be two series which one can attend in full or in part.
