Eleanor Bauer is rounding off the second season of BAUER HOUR – a kind of dance-based and above all amusing talk show – with three artist-performers: Einat Tuchman, Gossie Vervloesem and Michiel Reynaert, + the final PECK SEC Sound Quiz + music by Carlos Garbin!

Welcome to the BAUER HOUR dance season! This season's second edition of Eleanor Bauer's variety show promises a walk & talk with dancer Chrysa Parkinson (Rosas, ZOO...), and musical accompaniment by Carlos Alberto Paniz Garbin. BAUER HOUR remains quality time that lasts just one hour.

Art is all very well, but who is the artist who thinks it all up, where does he get his inspiration from and how does he translate this into a gripping scene, a haunting text, a meaningful movement? Questions major and minor, answers profound and light-hearted, these will be dished up to you at Soul Food, together with a tasty bite and a good glass of wine.  Afterwards you plunge into the performance in a satisfied and happy mood.

So there we are! The dance phenomenon Eleanor Bauer has completed eight BAUER HOURS, but now she has a taste for it and is giving an extra show. In this season's very final episode, her guest is all-round artist Christophe Meierhans.

Artists reveal themselves in their work. They give us a glimpse of what is going on in their minds, in their hearts. They inspire us. But who or what inspires them? For Soul Food Special, Eleanor Bauer, Ivo Dimchev, Mette Ingvartsen and Kris Verdonck will reveal their sources of inspiration and great examples to interviewers Guy Gypens and Katleen Van Langendonck (artistic director and programmer at Kaaitheater resp.) and you, the audience. There will be food and drinks for all.  And the artists get to choose their favourite dessert!

May will see publication of A Choreographer’s Score: Fase, Rosas danst Rosas, Elena’s Aria, Bartók, a book and four DVDs about Rosas’ early works, performed again last spring at the Kaaitheater. In interviews with Bojana Cvejić, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker talks in depth about her choreographic works and the processes behind their creation. 

For each Time Festival in Ghent, two artists are invited to take on the task of curator. In 2009 (the very last edition of the festival) they are Els Dietvorst and Dirk Braeckman. They are making a clear statement on the basis of their concern for the state and future of the world: Time 2009 will be a book and not a festival. A place to think, not an event. A great many artists have worked on the book on the basis of their artistic practice.

Unleash your inner genius and build your own robot. You don’t have to be a technical wizard – you will get a long way with a little imagination and the expert guidance of the German artist Ralf Schreiber and his associate, the scientist Christian Faubel. Your robot will be brought to life on an overhead projector. And afterwards you can take it home. There is a workshop for children from 8 to 12 and an open workshop for older children and adults.

In his video animations for Performatik, Luca Buvoli creates free associations on Futurist themes. He combines personal and historical stories: interviews with Marinetti’s daughters and adepts of Futurism, archive documents about political meetings and memories of the numerous air shows he visited in his youth. Buvoli questions the authoritarian and threatening side of our fascination with velocity and power.

WORKING TITLE FESTIVAL -  Memory, identity and history play a central role in the work of Mekhitar Garabedian. An Armenian migrant in Europe, he touches on very personal problems, but his discourse transcends the anecdotal and expands to a universal level. Together with Céline Butaye he worked on a publication full of photos from his archives. Both have been involved in one another’s work in the past.
