PERFORMATIK 2015 - In his new production Xavier Le Roy creates three situations that make the relationship between the audience and actors less straightforward. The three parts – a lecture, a performance and a concert – are controlled by the loss of a protagonist. The actors and spectators mourn together and this leads to inventions and strange situations…

An evening with lecture-performances, film and music. The Beursschouwburg is presenting work by the Russian activist art collective Chto Delat?, the young Dutch artist Hedwig Houben, the English performer Zoe Laughlin and the Swiss fashion designer, performer and musician Christoph Hefti.

An event that focuses on the notion of the manifesto. With Frederik Leen (Museum of Modern Art in Brussels, on the avant-garde at the end of the sixties), Jan Lauwers (Needcompany, on turning points in the development of theatre), Jan Ritsema (director; on Jérôme Bel’s work), Eric Sleichim (BL!NDMAN, on contemporary music) and Maarten Seghers & OHNO COOPERATION's installation So Man. You can also watch videos by Lawrence Weiner (US), Adrian Paci (ALB) and Deimantas Narkevicius (LIT), and there’s music too!

In 2005, the French choreographer Xavier Le Roy created a staged concert with music by the German composer Helmut Lachenmann. We shall be showing the second part of this performance on the closing evening of Pasta for Tired Dancers; the music is Lachenmann’s guitar duet Salut für Caudwell (1977). In the second part you can hear the renowned guitarist and composer Martin Siewert, presenting his musical response to Salut für Caudwell.

Linked to Alvin Lucier’s attendance of Pasta for Tired Dancers, the theatre-maker and theorist Bojana Cvejić will be showing music and live art films from the sixties and seventies, including work by John Cage, Nam June Paik, La Monte Young, Alvin Lucier and Robert Rauschenberg.
