The last of three NightShops organised by the UCL. The moderator is once again Béatrice Delvaux, the editor of Le Soir. This edition's guests are film director Thierry Michel, journalist Colette Braeckman, researcher Valérie Rosoux (UCL) and photographer Mélanie Wenger.

Poet and professor Geert Buelens, is the author of Europa Europa!, a magnum opus on the First World War and European cultural history. On this occasion, he speaks to the highly renowned German historian Philipp Blom (The Vertigo Years and A Wicked Company). Actress Femke Stallaert recites war poems, pianist Thomas Dieltjens and cellist Martijn Vink perform compositions by Frank Bridge.

There are quite a few yawning gaps these days: that between those with wealth and those without, between those who are on board and those who are excluded, between the salary of the CEO and that of the worker, etc. A debate on a pressing issue, involving several specialists and taking as its motto ‘Change the world, it needs it’ (Bertolt Brecht).

For Built to Last, choreographer Meg Stuart invited music dramaturge Alain Franco to collaborate with her. In this talk, Franco explains his non-chronological selection and juxtaposition of music for the production. He gives his personal view of monumentality and stability in society and in music. 

Pharmakon - The Estonian artist Maike Lond reports on her attempts to cooperate financially with the private sector. She tried in every way possible: with standard sponsor deals, as an employee, in public presentations, live debates on Estonian television etc. Her (rather romantic) goal was to become financially independent from curators and subsidising bodies.
