Sat 11.11 - Sun 26.11.17

Fri 10.11 - Sun 26.11.17

Imagine that you could be somebody else just for a moment. In HOUSE, you are invited to an unknown location. Due to the unexpected situations in which you find yourself, as a viewer you can no longer continue to observe things from the side-lines: there is no place to hide. Without any coercion but in a completely natural, surreal way, you become part of a new ‘home’.

Wed 09.12 - Sat 19.12.15

In Home Visit Europe, Rimini Protokoll juxtaposes the abstract idea of a European federation with the individual nature of a private home. 15 spectators sit at a table in a living room. The entire performance is contained in a suitcase and is laid out on the table.

Is there such a thing as a ‘European cultural identity’? The Berlin-based theatre collective Rimini Protokoll juxtaposes this abstract idea with the individual nature of a private home. You sit at a table in someone’s living room, together with 14 strangers. Maps are unfolded, joint decisions made, problems solved. Personal stories and parliamentary rituals intermingle while you zigzag from country to country, from citizen to citizen, criss-crossing the entire continent.

Fri 26.06 - Sat 04.07.15

Ylka and Thomas are having their house renovated. Two renovators have been at work for months, but the plans keep changing. The renovation becomes a metaphor for all the futile tinkering on a marriage that doesn’t work. De verbouwing is a sublime blend of humour and sorrow.

Fri 01.05 - Sat 09.05.15

The bas-relief Les passions humaines by the sculptor Jef Lambeaux (1852-1908) created a commotion in royal circles and the church authorities who described it as ‘blasphemous’ and ‘pornographic’. Guy Cassiers uses the work of art as the main character in a Belgian docudrama with a bilingual cast and a text by Erwin Mortier.
