Tim Etchells presents a performance in which he lends an insight into his creative process. Alone on stage, he remixes fragments of text coming from his own notebooks – ideas, word games, copy-paste clips from news reports and websites, twisted thoughts, overheard conversations, quotes, stories, etc. A generous session of improvisation!

JDX – A Public Enemy goes back to Henrik Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People. Tg STAN created this production in 1993. A razor-sharp comedy of politics, corruption, the abuse of power and the role of the media that is still very relevant today.

WoWmen! - The Catalan dancer and choreographer Pere Faura is fascinated by the mechanisms of sexual arousal. A hula hoop and Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons play a central role in Bomberos con grandes mangueras (Firemen with long hoses). Pornographic imagery becomes part of the choreographic practice.

In Ivana Müller’s work the title always contains the concept of the performance. In this production, ten performers present countless variations on what a ‘common body’ can mean. Can a group of people represent one idea?

In a marshy landscape inhabited by strange creatures stands a building on stilts, the Swamp Club, an arts centre run by three residents. When the centre is threatened, the community takes measures to defend itself... This new performance by Philippe Quesne is a fantastic, musical urban fable.

Following Otaku – the first comedy show ever to be selected for the Theatre Festival! – Joost Vandecasteele returns with a comedy show that questions both comedy and show. Something different, in other words. Something between the political and the personal, the perverse and the porous. A performance about the period between the elections and Flemish emancipation, a one man thing about a man and things.

Following radical adaptations that include La Divina Commedia and The Old Testament, FC Bergman now turns to another literary classic, the epic animal poem Van den vos Reynaerde (Reynard the Fox). Liesa Van der Aa and Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop put this journey/quest to music. Josse De Pauw provides the words. Dirk Roofthooft, Viviane De Muynck and Gregory Frateur also participate.

In 2003 Rachel Corrie travelled to Gaza to work as a volunteer giving aid to Palestinian civilians in the conflict with Israel. She died in Rafah when she threw herself, as a human shield, in the path of an approaching Israeli army bulldozer. My name is Rachel Corrie caused a great deal of commotion in England (premiere 2005) and America because of its political overtones and outspoken stance. Now Laura Van Dolron too is taking the bit between her teeth.  Cancelled for reasons of health.

In MCBTH, director Guy Cassiers continues his ‘anatomy of power’. Macbeth is one of Shakespeare’s darkest plays. The intense interaction of word, image and music reveals the cruel poetry of the play.

Olympique Dramatique and tg STAN are giving shape to shared theatre dreams. The companies are tackling The Vast Domain, a 1911 tragic-comedy by the Austrian writer Arthur Schnitzler about the consequences of adultery in Vienna at the start of the 20th century. Relevance and acting enjoyment are guaranteed!
