Twenty-two students from 14 countries are coming to the end of their four-year course at PARTS, the Brussels dance school headed by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker. A group of eleven students has opted for its own artistic project. In the course of three months they have been working on 2 trios, 1 duet and 3 solos.

Me, Myself & We. This was the title of a series of performances and talks we have presented in the season that is now approaching its end. The thread running through it all was ‘collectivity versus individualism’. Wouter Hillaert (rekto:verso) looks back together with choreographer Meg Stuart, Anoek Nuyens, Veridiana Zurita, Kristof van Baarle and Kate McIntosh. And you can join in at the table.

Through the Back: Situating Vision between Moving Bodies seeks to articulate this critical potential in a series of essays that explores the work of experimental choreographers active throughout the noughties: Alexander Baervoets, Boris Charmatz, Meg Stuart, Benoît Lachambre, Vera Mantero, Philipp Gehmacher, Jennifer Lacey and Nadia Lauro, and deufert & plischke.

The videos and writings of Els Dietvorst explore themes such as social conflict and survival in the margins. Art-Coeur-Merci is a film installation about a young Cameroonian man trying to survive in Brussels, with the addition of a performance by Angélique Wilkie. They make us reflect on the essential things in life.

Art is all very well, but who is the artist who thinks it all up, where does he get his inspiration from and how does he translate this into a gripping scene, a haunting text, a meaningful movement? Questions major and minor, answers profound and light-hearted, these will be dished up to you at Soul Food, together with a tasty bite and a good glass of wine.  Afterwards you plunge into the performance in a satisfied and happy mood.

WoWmen! - The Catalan dancer and choreographer Pere Faura is fascinated by the mechanisms of sexual arousal. A hula hoop and Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons play a central role in Bomberos con grandes mangueras (Firemen with long hoses). Pornographic imagery becomes part of the choreographic practice.

WoWmen! - Actress and visual artist Dolores Bouckaert and dancer Charlotte Vanden Eynde are fascinated by the deceptiveness of the body as an expressive medium. In this show they explore how to manipulate the theatrical body and how to unmask it.
