WORKING TITLE FESTIVAL — Kasper Vandenberghe climbs on a scaffolding clad in a protective suit and then drops down like a rock. It is calculated recklessness. It is a poetic search for how vulnerable we can still allow ourselves to be and how we can understand vulnerability as a force. It is dancing on the loose rope between two deeply human desires: the desire for balance versus a bottomless leap into the unknown.

WORKING TITLE FESTIVAL — This duet is an insight into the never-ending process of being together. Dan Mussett and Laurent Delom try to achieve a unity which is beyond both of them individually. It is an invitation to witness their journey as they become each other’s teacher, shadow, student, friend, mirror, brother, rival and colleague all at once and at the same time blurring the boundaries that separate the one from the other.

WORKING TITLE FESTIVAL — Inspired by the essay in the tradition of writer Michel de Montaigne, Anneleen Keppens presents three ‘movement essays’, each placing a fundamental aspect of abstract choreography at the centre.

WORKING TITLE FESTIVAL — Hidden at the basement of workspacebrussels, lies Kosi Hidama’s atelier. Occupying the space over the past few years, his work slowly started invading all the other spaces of the building. With Garden of solid subtleness Kosi will create an interior summer garden with the ceramics he produced at his basement atelier, in combination with subtle sounds. The artist invited his friend Misha Downey to work with him on this pottery landscape.

Get to know the latest generation of theatre-makers. In June, three theatre students from the RITCS will be presenting their graduation productions at the Kaaistudios. Not mine and other stories invites you to take a seat at the table. A table at which stories of a generation of twenty-somethings pass by. Young people with an opinion, who coincidently cross each other’s path in the city. Or is there more to it than coincidence?

Dance and choreography leaves traces on your body, and they are often physical and concrete: growing muscles or the trauma of injuries. But the repetition and memory of movements also leave traces. The choreographies of the past continue to dwell in the dancer’s body. In the solo Body of Work, Daniel Linehan explores these traces in his own body.

This performance moves to the 2019-2020 season due to productional reasons.

Six actors on the stage and only one solo. There are no leading or secondary roles, but six simultaneous interpretations of the same script. How strictly will each actor comply with the stage directions? Will they allow one another a place in the spotlight? The Script focuses on acting, ánd on the existential loneliness that you sometimes feel in a group.

How do we deal with mourning and loss nowadays? Life is a succession of transitional moments, major and minor connections that inevitably change you. The decreasing importance of traditional rituals to experience transitional moments has resulted in a search for alternatives. 

body as oracle, a trance, a rhythmic interface, an atmosphere, a landscape with the texture of my current mental state. a dance informed by everything and everyone i have ever encountered, seen, heard, felt, been beside that has become part of me, as i try to identify my own voice. and then see if i can stand it. nothing ever really goes away.
