Filip Berte’s current project focuses on the mechanism of inclusion and exclusion of uninvited newcomers in Western society. With the use of a camera obscura and a hidden digital camera, he installed a critical ‘moment of auto-reflection’ in several asylum centers. During Performatik he initiates a new phase of the project in an asylum center in Brussels

Verhelst XL is an attempt to make theatre that ‘creates peaceful surroundings’. Places where you can think, grieve, enjoy, look around at leisure. Places for new rituals. Author and director Peter Verhelst and letter sculptor Maud Bekaert worked on this together with artists such as Johan Tahon, Dirk Braeckman, Cristina Iglesias, Lili Dujourie and Helmut Stallaerts.

Burning Ice - Assembly (Burning Ice #7) – Thing 001384 (Nohe) concerns a conflict about a stained glass artwork entitled Nohe, between Kim Taylor Reece, a professional photographer, and Marylee Colucci.

The city is in constant movement, as passers-by involuntarily create duets, trios, choruses,... A person standing still in the moving city appears to be the main character of a short crossroad scene. In this project, Ariane Loze looks for a new continuity of the city through a montage technique that falls back on choreographic principles. Can editing be dance? And how does editing move?

Working Title Platform #3 - Does the manner in which we look at things influence the world around us? The Reflecting Pool exhibition explores the ways in which techniques such as framing and editing, mainly associated with cinema, are also used in dance and visual arts to challenge our gaze.  Running parallel with the dance installations Birdwatching and One/Zero by Benjamin Vandewalle and Erki De Vries, you enter a world in which physical and mental movement are always an extension of each other.

In the foyer of the Kaaistudio’s an installation by the choreographers Ula Sickle and Heike Langsdorf and the artist Laurent Liefooghe will be displayed. Viewmaster uses low tech to create disorienting effects, optical illusions and special effects. This is miniature theatre and live cinema all in one! Sickle and Langsdorf will present a performance in the space at the times indicated.
