Working Title Situation #01 - Syden is a utopian land that functions as a parallel universe, ruled by own rules, routines and rhythms, displaying its own identity and aesthetics. Visual artists Hedvig Biong and Pablo Castilla develop a multimedia installation with musician and sound designer Niko Hafkenscheid on the theme of tourism and authenticity.

Working Title Situation #01 - Dongyoung Lee is a graphic designer in residency at the Jan Van Eyck Academy in Maastricht. In her work she develops forms of layout and graphics that are as good as they are autonomous and philosophically charged. Invested with visual paradoxes the aim of the work is to generate a sort of mental movement in the perception of the audience.

Verhelst XL is an attempt to make theatre that ‘creates peaceful surroundings’. Places where you can think, grieve, enjoy, look around at leisure. Places for new rituals. Author and director Peter Verhelst and letter sculptor Maud Bekaert worked on this together with artists such as Johan Tahon, Dirk Braeckman, Cristina Iglesias, Lili Dujourie and Helmut Stallaerts.

During Burning Ice, Kaaitheater and CC Strombeek present Lawrence Weiners installation WATER SPILLED FROM SOURCE TO USE.

The Belgian artist Pieter Van den Bosch studied performance and… pyrotechnics. He is creating a fire construction accessible to the public, a variation on an ‘attack situation’, though without any substantive or other danger.

The sea kisses the shore, the waves break and the wind blows the sand. Can you hear the murmur of the sea in the Canal? Visual artist Erik Nerinckx builds a sound installation in which the sounds of the sea blend with those of the Canal. Do water and air sound the same everywhere?
