EXTRA SHOW 5/12! - Pieter Ampe and Benjamin Verdonck bring a disruptive concertante of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. On stage, the seasons pass by, but the sequence is not always as it should be. The marvellous, endless epilogue that follows leaves you feeling orphaned and defenceless.

During the British occupation of Egypt, soldiers invade Nazlat al-Shobak. The villagers accuse the soldiers of gross misconduct and the matter is brought before a military court. Among the witnesses are twelve women who were raped. Zig Zig is a documentary theatre performance that takes the transcripts of these courageous witnesses as its starting point.

What begins as an innocent game soon degenerates into a fierce battle with a victorious winner. The line between real and unreal begins to fade disturbingly: how fragile is our civilization in reality?

In By Heart, Tiago Rodrigues teaches ten people a poem. It is a course in resistance that is finished when the ten people have learnt the poem by heart.

Theatre maker Laila Soliman looks for the story of the 1919 Egyptian revolution in songs, plays and archives. Into this she weaves the story of two theatre divas of that time – the first Muslim women ever to perform on stage, thus unleashing a revolution in theatre and in the lives of many Muslim women. Are there parallels with today’s Tahrir uprisings? 

Directed by Tim Etchells and based on the novel by Ágota Kristóf, The Notebook tells the story of twin brothers evacuated to the Hungarian countryside during World War II. Kristof’s narrational language – bold, crisp and reduced – provides the basis for a compelling performance.
