A better place is an attempt to solve all of the world’s problems in one 45-minute performance. Yes it might seem ambitious, but why not let art again have a chance to change the world? A better place will be the third piece of Davis Freeman & Jerry Killick’s action performances which reflect on what it’s like to live in the world today. 

During Working Title Platform (WTP) the public can see the results of Workspacebrussels’ residence work. WTP provides an overview of the work of these young artists and gives an insight into their work and thought processes. The right to be lazy! Paul Lafargue, son-in-law of Karl Marx, was already advocating this in 1880. However, it will still take a lot of effort to have this recognised as a human right. In recent years our world has become even more agitated and hectic. There is one consolation: the quest for rest plays a central role in EXIT. A performance that is like a beneficial rest cure!

Ivo Dimchev, one of our artists-in-residence, invites the audience to write dialogues on paper. Three professional actors are given these live on stage and immediately get to work. The characters they play are fixed – the woman, the man and the child – but how their relationship develops depends on the audience. - This production has been postponed to a later date.

Kate McIntosh’s work is a delicious mixture of all sorts of genres. In All Ears she tells us about the behaviour of people and animals, jokes about politics and group dynamics, performs dances about bees and traffic jams... and asks pertinent questions. A witty and lucid performance that balances between experiment and entertainment.

For Monique, the choreographer Alix Eynaudi was inspired by bondage. Together with Mark Lorimer she stages ‘soft torture’ techniques: pinching, dragging, pulling, carrying ... They work and feel and pretend to feel. Monique is a dance full of touch, manipulation and contact and at the same time full of care and attention.
