Anywhere Doors is an interactive installation that moves through the public space. Five doors on wheels traverse the urban landscape – and evoke question about territories and borders. Feel free to open the doors, to close them, to step through them… Anywhere Doors will begin its journey in front of the 5 Blocks, as an open invitation to the children in the neighbourhood. You can accompany it to the Kaaistudios, where you will be treated to hot chocolate, waffles, and all the activities at the Arts Day!

You see a robot trying to stand upright. It always falls over again, but does not give up. It cheerfully and indefatigably undergoes the process of trial and error, falling over and picking itself up again.

In Home Visit Europe, Rimini Protokoll juxtaposes the abstract idea of a European federation with the individual nature of a private home. 15 spectators sit at a table in a living room. The entire performance is contained in a suitcase and is laid out on the table.

Is there such a thing as a ‘European cultural identity’? The Berlin-based theatre collective Rimini Protokoll juxtaposes this abstract idea with the individual nature of a private home. You sit at a table in someone’s living room, together with 14 strangers. Maps are unfolded, joint decisions made, problems solved. Personal stories and parliamentary rituals intermingle while you zigzag from country to country, from citizen to citizen, criss-crossing the entire continent.

The bas-relief Les passions humaines by the sculptor Jef Lambeaux (1852-1908) created a commotion in royal circles and the church authorities who described it as ‘blasphemous’ and ‘pornographic’. Guy Cassiers uses the work of art as the main character in a Belgian docudrama with a bilingual cast and a text by Erwin Mortier.

PERFORMATIK 2015 - A poetic performance about the complex relationship between man and nature. And a meeting between the special language of movement of the Icelandic dancer Bára Sigfúsdóttir (P.A.R.T.S., 2011), the work of the French visual artist Noémie Goudal, who combines illusion, stage design and photography to create surreal landscapes, and the Icelandic musician Borko.

In response to our fast-paced world, the ceremonies introduce a muted spotlight on art. By slowly revealing, looking at and contextualising one single artwork, the artist invites us to take our time.
