Meyoucycle is about you and me and everything in between. Indeed, a me-you-cycle. Bauer presents a science fiction concert about completely normal emotions in this age of hyper-capitalism and technological progress.

Thierry De Mey has been exploring the grey area between dance and music for more than 30 years. He has composed music for dance performances, directed films about dance, and constructed choreographic multimedia installations. In 2016, for the first time, he has created a dance performance for the big stage, in collaboration with Ensemble intercontemporain, the legendary Paris music ensemble founded by Pierre Boulez.

During the Day of the Dance we show a screening of IT'S IN THE AIR. In this 2008 collaboration between Jefta van Dinther and Mette Ingvartsen, the two performers jumped on large trampolines for 50 minutes. This video registration is all that remains of the intense physical challenge.

Pierre Audi locates Bach's St. John Passion in an austere set inspired by Wim Delvoye's images. The passion questions the opposing claims on the truth found in religions and the conflicts it causes. Iconoclast Delvoye looks right through these truths with X-ray eyes, reducing them to a meagre pile of mouse bones.

On 30 November 2015, the Moroccan sociologist Fatima Mernissi died. As an emancipated feminist and activist, she navigated effortlessly between East and West – always arriving at deep insights into the complex relationship between people, cultures and religions. The books Beyond the Veil and Islam and Democracy garnered her worldwide fame and both remain powerful reference works to this day.

A unique blues and country repertoire took shape in the southern United States at the end of the 1920s. Liesa Van der Aa and Tom Pauwels, the resident guitarist with Ictus, are together immersing themselves in roots music and coming up with a new sound of the Deep South, such as old blues numbers and songs of protest and exile. Christopher Trapani and Larry Polansky wrote the compositions, a warm tribute to folk music.

The raw materiality of the set, the physical sound and unavoidable language of movement make Meanwhile, an apocalyptic performance in which the passage of time and the relationship between man and his environment become tangible. This show has been rescheduled to season 2016-17 due to planning problems.
