Le nouveau Quesne est arrivé

Over the last few years we have presented French director Philippe Quesne’s l'Effet de Serge, La Mélancolie des Dragons, Big Bang and Swamp Club, magical performances in which he examines human actions under the microscope. In Next Day, Quesne once again takes us to a microcosm where dream and reality, music and language, loneliness and group spirit are intertwined, but this time this world is populated by thirteen children between the ages of 8 and 11. But make no mistake, this really is the ‘new Quesne’ for an adult audience. Several months ago it also successfully opened the new season at the Théâtre Nanterre-Amandiers, the legendary theatre just outside Paris where for many years Patrice Chéreau ruled the roost and where Philippe Quesne was last year appointed director.
