One big human organ

BL!NDMAN’s saxophones play monumental organ compositions by Bach. In Bach’s time the organ had acquired orchestral proportions, which the composer used to the full. By doubling up with Tubax (a sort of combination of tuba and sax) and electronics, BL!NDMAN generates the extra-low notes that are characteristic of the 32-foot pipes of large organs. The division of the voices accentuates the brilliance of the composition even more. BL!NDMAN becomes one big human organ, set in motion by breath.

• BL!NDMAN has been a guest at Kaaitheater since 1991. The ensemble will be celebrating its 25th anniversary with a brand new Bach CD and a reissue of its most memorable CDs from the early days to the present.
