Abigail's party
Beverly and Laurence, a smart couple in a smart neighbourhood, organise a cocktail party for their neighbours. Acquaintance is easily made as the first glasses are drunk, but several rounds later it becomes increasingly difficult to keep things agreeable. An hilarious and caustic comedy by Mike Leigh, the director of such films as Naked and Secrets and Lies. An absolute cult classic in Great Britain. Tristero’s version was a hit at the Kaaitheater’s Comedy Festival (2004) and we are here reviving it for the second time.

KOMEDRIE
Le collectif bruxellois Tristero est réputé pour ses comédies intelligentes et pétillantes, jouées dans des lieux inattendus. En 1996, ils ont interprété Alles voor de tuin dans une maison de maître avec jardin, à Laeken. En 2000 a suivi Altijd ‘t zelfde, présenté dans un café à Jette. Et en 2004, ils ont monté Abigail’s Party dans un espace du Kaaitheater reconverti pour l’occasion en un appartement des années 70.
De la fin du mois de mai au début de juillet, les trois comédies seront à nouveau à l’affiche à Bruxelles. À cette occasion, Tristero, le Beursschouwburg, le KVS et le Kaaitheater unissent leurs forces.
