In ‘The Song’, ten dancers stand on an empty stage. The acting area marked out by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, together with the artists Ann Veronica Janssens and Michel François, gives life to new possibilities: a playful solo or a group choreography like a flock of birds in full flight.

In Giant City, human bodies depict or evoke a landscape. It is a ‘science-fiction choreography’ for eight dancers who are seeking a way of integrating into their body language the changes life forces them to make. The setting in which they move is that of metropolitan space: where nothing is fixed, and everything is in motion in a constant metamorphosis.

No hidden tricks, no trade secrets. In his latest production Alain Platel is returning to the basis of dance creation. Based on his belief in the power of the human body as an emotional tool, as a bearer of memory, as the raw material for living visual art. In Out of Context, this internationally acclaimed choreographer and dancer is after a gap of many years once again giving a world premiere in his home country.

Toneelgroep Amsterdam / Ivo van Hove
13-14/3/2010
Following the success of Roman Tragedies and Angels in America, Kaaitheater is once again presenting a theatre marathon by Toneelgroep Amsterdam. The director Ivo van Hove mobi-lises the whole ensemble to tackle a light-hearted comedy of manners by the 18th-century Ital-ian playwright Carlo Goldoni. Summer Trilogy focuses on the materialist excesses and amo-rous intrigues of an upper middle-class family.
