Het Theaterfestival 13 - Twee mensen hangen aan elkaar, als parasieten, en vreten elkaars energie beetje bij beetje aan. Loslaten en weggaan is geen optie, want met twee is beter dan alleen, dat weet iedereen. Voor deze voorstelling liet Jan Martens zich inspireren door de concentratie, spanning en symboliek van circusacrobatiek. Een sobere maar intense voorstelling over de liefde, voorbij alle clichés.

With Midday and Eternity (the time piece) Eleanor Bauer creates the closing piece of her past-present-future trilogy. In this part she deals with the most unknown of the three tenses: the future. Midday and Eternity (the time piece) is as much about fantasy as it is about what is true and recurring.

For Monique, the choreographer Alix Eynaudi was inspired by bondage. Eynaudi abstracts this erotic practice, leaving only its essence: the restriction of freedom of movement. She applies this to the dance, but also to the lighting, music and costume design. Monique is a dance full of touch, manipulation and contact and at the same time full of care, attention, observation and responsibility.

In 1983 Rosas danst Rosas had its world premiere at the fourth Kaaitheater Festival. So this year it will therefore be celebrating its thirtieth anniversary. Rosas danst Rosas is a real classic, perhaps the classic in our national dance history.

The Dutch word ‘drift’ is found in phrases meaning ‘to float off’ and ‘to be cast adrift’, and it also refers to ‘anger’ and ‘zeal’. Cindy Van Acker makes use of the word’s many meanings in this new duet. In her work, body language, lighting and sound design are closely related.
